With its longstanding expertise in hospitality, Benchmark supplies each of its managed properties with the tools they need to effectively and efficiently operate.


In Benchmark’s merger with Gemstone Hotels & Resorts, it needed a hospitality business software system that was able to effectively and efficiently manage property data, with a user-friendly software solution that could integrate seamlessly with existing disparate systems to properly manage a large hotel portfolio’s multiple types of data. The company had been researching several business intelligence suppliers to find a tool that was robust enough to handle large amounts of information and built specifically for the hospitality industry.

As an existing ProfitSword client, Gemstone‘s back office systems were determined to be best in class and the strategy was formulated to implement them throughout the newly merged company. Benchmark opted to implement all four ProfitSword business intelligence and data management software solutions into its entire existing Benchmark branded portfolio of hotels.

Solution and Results

With the installation of ProfitSage, ProfitPlan, ProfitPace and ProfitWizard, Benchmark was able to streamline its budgeting and forecasting processes and improve accuracy, reliability, and work efficiency at all of its managed properties. Using ProfitSword’s hospitality business software solution, ProfitSage, Benchmark is able to better understand data portfolio financial performance at a macro- and micro-level via the web in real time in order to make more timely decisions to positively impact profitability.
